O’Rourke Realty A Grade   Kingsley 70 (Wells 3-19) def by SDCC 103 (Kelland 32)   Saturday saw the 1’s rocking up to Seacrest to play Kingsley Woodvale knowing our finals hopes were all but over if we failed to win and in typical Mick James fashion, the day got off to a negative start with him losing the toss and we were sent into the field knowing the leading run-scorer in the league was their opening batsman.   However, the negative vibes were short lived when everyone celebrat...

Unfortunately, it was all downhill from there, as one of their bats got in stayed in for most of the innings. Bowling first. We bowled reasonably well with M Wells taking two important early wickets. Liam Catalfamo bowled consistent, quickish wheels for long spells. Well done, Liam. During his second spell, Gav found his consistency and finished with 5 wickets. His...
Baggy Yellow for Gambo
Some may say it is an unusual idea to award a Baggy Yellow to someone shortly after they are injured.   We can assure you there is no consolation in this award, it is something that was unanimously agreed upon by the committee weeks ago at our monthly meeting.   Andrew Gamble currently captains our 2 nd XI and no doubt will be sorely missed as he recovers with a broken arm, but his most important role at the club is that of Club Captain.  Gambo drives standards amongst club ...

Brackenreg Blitz - Vikings 2 from 2
With a nice and early 9am fixture, the Division 1 boys lost the toss and were sent into the field. Ballajura got off to a good start with wickets hard to come by inside the first 10 overs. All bowlers had to work hard to keep the run rate down, but runs continued to leak. With some good bowling at the back end of the innings, the Vikings restricted Ballajura to 4/181 off their 20 overs, a big total but not impossible. The pick of the bowlers were Luke Hopkins (1-25 off 4), Liam Catalfamo (0-25 ...

I Grade Premiers
The Whitehall I Grade boys, led by their fearless leader Sam Harrison capped off an amazing season by beating North Beach CC in an outright victory to claim the I Grade title after losing in the grand final last season. The lads bowled out NBCC for 51 in the first dig with Lachi Wilkins (5/17) the pick of the bowlers. The fellas did their best to bat out the game but were dismissed for 135 from 71 overs.     Their opponents came out and made a quick fire 5/125 and declared, leaving ou...

The O'Rourke Realty A Grade knew they had to leave it all on the field if they were to qualify for the finals for the first time since the 2013-14 season. Coming up against the 3rd placed Joondalup-Kinross, who weren't going to just roll over.  Having won 3 in a row, confidence was high in the A grade camp and that confidence was certainly carried into the game. Batting first and making a respectable 179 from 69.1 overs, Club Captain Petey O'Mara lead the way with 72 runs and batted...

Vikings T20 Premiers!
We entered the game with two forced changes from the semi-final, in came Kelland brothers Si and Tommy for Carn (moved back east) & Brown (injured).   Morley won the toss and chose to bat.   The two Cam show started us off with some tight bowling, the Wyss variety got things going after bowling the Morley captain in the 4 th over.   Some great fielding and more tight bowling meant that after 13 overs Morley had only found the boundary twice despite the field being up.&nb...
Masterclass Group
After discussion with the leadership group and team captains, we have agreed that we want to get the most out of the limited training times that we have. As a result, we are going to try new things in an effort to get the formula right. Firstly – centre wicket practice on Thursdays will still alternate (higher grades this Thursday) but there will be restrictions on the number of fielders fielding. Batsmen will get shorter hits but with more frequency of balls being delivered. Blokes not fieldin...

I would have bowled first anyhow. Rego got our customary early wicket. Good start. It was nice having Timmy bowling again, who went ‘bang bang’ before drinks. I was probably going to choose to bowl anyway to make the most of the presence of G.Wells, and the fact it was a nice cool day and next weeks going to be a stinker (at least that’s what I told the lads). A bit of funky captaincy saw me open the bowling with Kahlil. There ope...

Last night we honoured another club legend presenting a Baggy Yellow to  Michael Lee . Mocha was a stalwart of our vital formative years including the period that saw us promoted from C to B grades, doing the B Grade double and straight in to A Grade over 3 seasons. During those years Mocha was a prolific run scorer. Stories were shared of how Mocha could entertain a crowd, on and off the field. Leekong breaks another record!
Going in to week 2 of round 13 over the weekend, Jack Leekong knew he had to get 4 wickets if he was to write himself in to the history books.  A better opportunity may not come along after Jack destroyed the opposition in week one moving to the number one sport for innings figures of 8-4 off 8.5 overs and, in the process, dismissed the opposition for a record low score against of just 9.   It appeared at first that Kiwi (5-11) was out to spoil the party for Jack but the young ...
Leekong Smashes Stumps....... and Record!
An accurate spell of bowling from young Viking, Jack Leekong, has seen him break the club record for best individual bowling in an innings.   Jack, who turned 17 less than a month ago, recorded the wonderful figures of 8 for 4 off 8.5 overs.  These figures contributed to the opposition being dismissed for just 9, which is also the new record for lowest innings score against the club in any grade. No sundries were bowled in the innings and Mick Hewett who opened up with Jack too...

11 down, 3 to go!
11 rounds down (12 for I and J Grade) and 3 to go!  With that in mind one of our members has penned the following summary of how they see it. Makes for interesting reading! The O’Rourke Realty Investments A Grade hope to be safe of relegation now with a hard fought win against Edgewater in Round 11. What’s remarkable is  they are only 3.14 points out of 4th spot! The A Grade lads would need to win 2 out of last 3 to be any chance. This prospect is made a little tougher when TD’s boys ...

Patrons Cup T20 - SF Report
Patrons Cup T20 When one of your players asks who’s Tim Dayman you know you have a young side. Young Boy George was quickly aware of who Tim Dayman is when TD launched an all out attack on Kingsley in the opening overs. Nothing could stop him except himself, which he did. With his hamstring.
